British Champs Successes

Well done to all those that took part in the British Championships on the
challenging and technical terrain at Brown Clee. Essex Stragglers can now boast
a British Champion at M10 with Oliver Prince showing the rest of the field
exactly how it's done. Lucy Warland was the winner on W14B.
We had a total of eight relay teams entered this year and it was great to see
them all get round. Our Women's team of Daisy Partridge, Chloe Cracknell and
Nina Tant put in an impressive performance, narrowly missing out on a medal,
finishing in fourth place after a very strong third leg from Nina. Both of our
novice mini relay teams finished in the top ten with the Possums (Ben Partridge,
Jamie Hartnup and Ollie Prince) in seventh and the Ocelots (Tom Martin, Amy
Skeet and Kate Bowie-Britton) in ninth. Our first year W14s (Lucy Warland, Lucy
Walker and Emma Bowie-Britton) and our young team of M18s (Josh Partridge,
Callum Turner and Tom Lock) held their own on the challenging terrain. It's
looking good for the juniors at the JK next year!
The W50s were 12th and the Crossbills came out on top of the two Stragglers Ad
Hoc teams after a spirited third leg from Peter Warland put them into 15th place
overall ahead of the Albatrosses in 32nd.
