Explanation of Event levels

Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive and used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships.

An orienteering opportunity for all our members as well as anyone else who would like to try orienteering at the Naze. Orienteering games and courses around this visually stunning country park, followed by a chance to chat over a picnic.

All are welcome, club members and non-members.

Registration and Start times

The session starts at 11.30 a.m; orienteering continues until 1.30 pm and then we will be staying for the picnic.

Facilities

Toilets at the Visitor Centre. Cafes available.

Bring your own picnic and chairs for a picnic and a chat afterwards

The Naze Country Park is a great venue for orienteering, and you could have a swim/paddle afterwards too.

Safety Notes

Participation is at your own risk. Take care to keep away from the cliff edge at all times. High tide at 3.30 pm – stay away from the beach or risk getting cut off.

Kite festival also in progress – keep away from kite area.
