Stragglers at JK
Eleven Stragglers made the journey to Yorkshire and participated in this year’s Jan Kjellström International Festival of Orienteering held over the Easter weekend.
Stragglers win a hat trick!
A team of Stragglers have won their third Beat The Street competition. Following on from the competitions in Chelmsford and Maldon, SOS have again won the running & cycling club section proving their tenacity on the county's streets.
Mike Powell Davies Shield Awarded
At the recent Summer Midweek Series event at Great Notley, Club Chairman, Eddie Banks presented the Mike Powell Davies Shield for 2024 to Chris Childs. The Shield is awarded annually for services to the Club.
Straggler becomes a Welsh Champion
Congratulations to Joshua Owen who won M18 at Welsh Championships hosted by Eryri Orienteering Club on March 2nd.
Death of former Chairman announced
Derek Ladkin passed away on February 8th aged 92. Derek was a stalwart of Essex Stragglers in the early days including a stint as Chairman. Our sympathy goes to his son, Russ also an orienteer with Stragglers.
Derek's funeral will take place on March 21st at 11:45 at Weeley Crematorium and then at The Ship, Kirby-le-Soken.

Yvette Baker victory
Juniors from Essex Stragglers have qualified for the national final of the Yvette Baker Shield.
SOS Club Championships 2024
The 2024 SOS Club Championships was held at SUFFOC event at Tunstall on Sunday December 1st. The results are below.
Congratulations to Geraldine Russell who has regained her title of Club Champion with husband John in 2nd place narrowly ahead of Nick Pugh in 3rd place. Special mention to
defending Junior Champion, Lulu Gooding who finished in 4th place and also retained the title of Junior Club Champion with Alex Pugh in 2nd place. Well done to everyone.
The trophies will be presented at New Years Day Novelty.
