Thanks for coming. Congratulations to Anne and Mike on winning the event. If there was a trophy, you would have to share it. Turnout for the event was disappointing, compared with the 50-odd finishers last year at the postage-stamp size and largely open Danbury Park. Still, the event has its corps of regulars who seem to enjoy it.
Most people coped with the novelty aspects well. The three people who mis-punched at 13 are 40+, so they can blame their eyesight for thinking that the mapped earthbank turned the corner. Controls 16 to 20 had a map at the control, pointing to another control with the same control description, and all but one of you coped with this. Controls 19 and 20 had another map at the second location, pointing to a third location with the punch and all but one of you who got this far coped with this. A couple of competitors played the system to their advantage by looking at every pond, pit etc. that they went near, to see whether there was a punch there. Well done!
Thanks to Pauline, Emily and Jessica for helping at registration/start/finish/results and with control collection.
The original instructions, location of the second and third controls, and same photographs of the woods are at this link.
