Courses Handicap relays, run under the usual rules - see below.
There will be a limited number of maps available for individuals and groups not taking part in the relays to run a Yellow, Orange, or Light Green course.
Courses are not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs.
Manual (pin-punch and cardboard) punching will be used.
Location Assembly and changeover area in the grounds of Gosfield School, entrance at Grid Grid Reference TL788305 on the unclassified road between Gosfield and Halstead.
Please contact the organiser if you are bringing a coach or other large vehicle.
Map Open parkland and varied ancient deciduous woodland with some comifer plantation remaining.
1:10,000, 5m contours, updated for the event.
Your course will be printed on your map, which will be bagged.
Relay rules 1 - Teams of four runners must complete four short (yellow), three medium (orange) and two long (light green) courses.
2 - Each team member must complete at least one course and no-one may run the same course twice. At the start, each team will receive a set of maps, one for each course. The fourth runner will not be able to start until another team member returns.
3 - Scratch teams will start at 12 noon. Handicap will determine start time of all other teams. Handicap in minutes as follows:

Thus a team made up of W21+M40+M50+W55 will have a handicap of 4+4+8+18 = 34 minutes. Start time will be at 11.26. Easy really!
4 - The Organiser's decision is final.
Entries Email the completed entry form to geraldine@russell2.fsnet.co.uk or post to Geraldine Russell, Bookfield, Workhouse Hill, Boxted, Colchester CO4 5TT, by 25th June.
There will be limited entry on the day, depending on map availability.
Times Payment in the Car park from 10.00. Arrive in good time, bearing mind that your start time will depend on your handicap.
Scratch start time 12.00. Your Start time will be determined by subtracting your handicap from this time - see above.
Start, finish and changeover are within 200m of the parking area.
Fees £5.00 seniors (£4 if affiliated to a registered club), £2 juniors (under 21) and students. Late and on-the-day relay entries will be subject to £1 surcharge (you only need to register your team in advance, you won't be surcharged for paying on the day).
Results by post no charge. Add this page to Bookmarks/Favourites (try ctrl+D) for results on-line.
There will be a £1 per car parking charge which will be collected on arrival.
Facilities Squash available at the changeover.
No other refreshments available - bring a picnic!
Toilets located in the school sports hall, within 200m of car parking and changeover.
Dogs Dogs are allowed in the Car Park only, not on the playing fields or on the courses.
