See the link below for results from the Street O’ series at Stanford-Le-Hope. This was the last race in the series, so the league table shows the final positions and follows a check through of all the Essex MapRuns to make sure everyone who has run one during the series has been given their 50 point bonus. Good to see so many took up this part of the challenge. 27 MapRunners attempted at least one of the Essex MapRuns during the series.
David Game (MEC) ended the series victorious in the Short course series, winning three of the last four races and grabbing his MapRun bonus to take the win. Second place went to Veronica Machin, with Melanie Sirett in third. The long course series was hard fought and close. There were at least three different leaders over the series in the Long course. In the end Guy Lidbury (HAVOC) won, dropping only 21 points from the theoretical top score of 650. Second place went to David Lumby, with Jackie Sibthorp in third. Gary Chandler was the only entrant to win multiple races - taking top spot in the last three, but he didn't have the full six scoring races, so finished down the field. Six runners entered all eight races and attempted a MapRun during the series.
The revised handicap system seemed to work quite well, producing some close results. In race 2 long course, 5 runners scored 98 points or more!
In total we had 32 runners on the short course, and 52 on the long course.

SOS Mid-Week Summer-Autumn League
The event will form part of HAVOC/SOS Mid-Week O’ League. Points will be awarded based on finishing times adjusted
using an age/gender handicap system. Each missed or incorrect control will incur a 5 minutes penalty.
Best 6 results from the series will count.
50 bonus points added for undertaking any one of the SOS/HAVOC MapRuns during the course of the series - just confirm run to the Coordinator.
Full results will be emailed and published on the SOS and HAVOC websites.
