Introduction to Orienteering Course for Women
Highwoods - Colchester
Various dates in August/September 2021


Details
An free introductory course to orienteering, run over 5 sessions at Highwoods Country Park in Colchester, aimed at women who have not tried orienteering before. The course will take you through using a map, basic navigation and use of a compass, with the aim being to improve confidence and fitness over the 5 week course.

Orienteering is an ideal sport for problem-solving, a challenge in the outdoors, and can be enjoyed by all ages and fitness levels.

It will be led by female coaches, funded by Sport England as part of their This Girl Can programme.

The free sessions will be based from Chanterelles car park at Highwoods Country Park (close to Tesco), and will run from 10.30 to 12 noon on four consecutive Saturdays (14th, 21st and 28th August, and 4th September), with the fifth session on the 11th taking place at a different local venue as a mini-competition.
