Overview

There are two Maprun courses available - Short course which is 3.0km direct distance between the 12 controls & the Long Course which is 5.8km direct distance between the 24 controls. The optimum routes will be longer. Controls are all fire hydrant signs. The course is on roads, pavements, urban footpaths and (avoidable) unlit woodland paths.

Safety Notes

Participation is at your own risk. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. Bring clothing and footwear appropriate for the weather conditions. As with any street orienteering participants will be required to cross roads and you are asked to take due care and attention at all times particularly just after the start and before the finish where it is quite busy but with good sight lines. High visibility clothing is strongly recommended. It is a condition of entry that participants agree to follow the British Orienteering British Orienteering Participant Code of Conduct There may be dog walkers, cyclists, scooters or residents on pavements and footpaths – be aware and give them priority.
