Explanation of Event levels
Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive and used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships.

Overview
This event is open to all, and is a local (Level D) colour coded event associated with JIRCs 2026. The JIRCS weekend is organised by EAOA. The Open event will be held on Saturday 26th September, in Writtle Forest. A limited range of colour coded courses are on offer: Orange, Short Green, Green and Blue. PLEASE NOTE THE PERIOD FOR STARTS IS EARLIER THAN NORMAL. Open event starts will run from 9.30 to 11.00am. Courses close 12.30pm. We will not allocate start times but the intention is for the forest to be clear of open course participants prior to the JIRC races. Slower participants running longer courses are encouraged to start early.
