Junior Inter-Regional Championships

SOS juniors have been busy in the Lake District at the annual inter-regional championship as part of the East Anglian Junior Squad. 

Three of the club’s young athletes travelled north to face the individual challenge in the hilly terrain of Torver Back Common and then the sand dunes of Haverigg for the relays. Lulu (W14), Tommy and Joshua (both M18) all performed really well in these technical areas, contributing to the squad’s success. The East Anglian team achieved a creditable 6th place out of the 12 regions, matching our best performances over the last decade.

Our thanks to the North West Orienteering Association for organising an excellent weekend, Clive Wilkinson for coaching the squad for many years and to Roger Gooding for coordinating the team’s endeavours.
