Overview

Hylands Park is a mixture of deciduous woodland and open areas with lakes and ponds with a fine 2007 restored grand 18th Century House and Gardens designed by Humphry Repton. There is a Short, Medium and Long course available on Maprun, all starting from the information post just outside the Stables Cafe. For details of how to use Maprun click here. The Short and Medium courses also have control markers fixed to posts which you need to locate and then to record the letters in the orange triangle.

Hylands Activities
Before you travel make sure there are no major Hylands Park activities which may block access to the controls.

Safety Notes

  1. The park has areas of uneven & slippery ground.
  2. There are fallen branches, vegetation at eye height and foot-catching undergrowth at low level.
  3. There are lakes, ponds, rivers and streams. Courses are designed to avoid the need for a close approach.
  4. All the courses will cross roads, so care is needed.
  5. Please avoid other park users when completing the course, especially if they are with horses or dogs.
  6. A responsible adult should assess their group’s needs and abilities prior to attempting the courses.
