Eight East Anglian Champions for SOS
Stragglers hosted the East Anglian Championships in Writtle Forest on 22nd June. Eight club members headed their age class to be crowned East Anglian Champions.
Writtle Forest is a complex area with many contour features in beautiful runnable forest. The sun shone and runners were glad of the shade amongst the trees. The planner, Ian Hargreaves made best use of the terrain to set some excellent courses. SOS members were more than up to the challenge.
Leading the way was Chris Sellens who posted the fastest time on the Brown course to win both M40 and the Open Championship. He was closely followed by Oliver Prince with 2nd fastest time to claim the M20 title and an excellent performance by Hannah Newton, 6th fastest to Women's Open crown.
Joshua Owen (M18) and Lulu Gooding (W14) were the other juniors to win their classes.
For the oldies, Geraldine and John Russell both retained their titles and Colin West produced a superb run to win M70.
Congratulations to one and all.
